Windows 7 Beta download – Update on meeting the demand

Last week I told you about the availability of the Windows 7 Beta download in my, “Windows 7 Beta now available for download from Microsoft – Here’s how to get it!,” post just after Midnight PST on Thursday. Throughout the day Thursday and then Friday and so on, the excitement and interest in accessing the download sites in order to download the beta has been at very high levels.

Unfortunately, due to an enormous surge in demand, the download experience on Friday was not ideal, so we listened to your input and feedback and took the necessary steps to ensure a good experience. We have clearly heard that many of you want to check out the Windows 7 Beta and, as a result, we have decided remove the initial 2.5 million limit on the public beta for the next two weeks (thru January 24th). During that time you will have access to the beta even if the download number exceeds the 2.5 million unit limit.

So, head on out to the Windows 7 page on the Partner Portal to download the beta today and access all of the tools and resources we have made available for you there to help you prepare for new opportunities to grow your business.

Thank you and have a wonderful day,
