Microsoft is giving away $75,000 in gas this time, a chance to be on the Microsoft Small Business Summit, and access to tips from your peers!

imageSome of you may remember my post a month ago about the Microsoft Small Business Team giving away 5 Ways to Save and The Chance to Win 5,000 Gallons of Gas. Well, the economy doesn’t seem to be letting up, so neither are we! We want to continue to provide great business information that small businesses can use to help navigate a down economy.

Now, rather than having us go on about ways to save money, we thought we’d turn over the floor to those who know the most about running a small business . . . that would be small business owners themselves! For the next two months (until October 1, 2008), small businesses can share their wisdom by visiting BumptheSlump.com and posting personal tips on how to navigate a down economy.

Tips can be posted in one of three categories:

  1. Information Technology (IT)
  2. Marketing
  3. General Business

During the next two months, the public is able to vote for and comments on all posted tips. At the end of the two months, the top ten tips in each of the three categories—as voted by the public—will go to our panel of 3 judges (Rieva Lesonsky, Jeff Wuorio and Steve Strauss). The judges will choose a winner based on 1) Clarity of Expression; 2) Widespread applicability, regardless of business type; and, 3) Potential business impact.

So, what do the winners get? The winner in each category will receive $25,000 in Shell gas cards and the opportunity to appear on the Microsoft Small Business Summit in October 2008. That’s right, more gas to help with the rising fuel prices and some free publicity for your business. If you’re not familiar with the Microsoft Small Business Summit and what a great opportunity this is, check out last year’s Summit. So, don’t wait. Get to BumptheSlump.com, be one of the first to post your wisdom and give yourself the chance to win big. Best of luck!

Thank you and have a wonderful day,
