NOTICE: If you downloaded Visual Studio 2008 from VLSC prior to January 31st, you should delete those bits and re-download

A couple weeks back, I posted about the Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) where customers who purchase through Open License can access and download installation media for the products they purchase instead of having to wait for the installation media to be shipped to them. This notice is for any customers who downloaded Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 from the VLSC prior to January 31st.

In the last week of January, we received notice from a handful of clients that they had issues installing from some Visual Studio 2008 images downloaded from VLSC. Upon testing of several images, an error in the bits was discovered, which caused the failed installs and the Visual Studio 2008 images were made inactive on VLSC to prevent further downloads. A notice has just been issued stating that the Visual Studio 2008 images on VLSC have been updated with corrected bits and anyone who downloaded the Visual Studio 2008 images prior to January 31st should delete those images and re-download the updated Visual Studio 2008 images from the VLSC for install.

Thank you and have a wonderful day,
