Yes, you heard right… 50%* off the first year payment!

In last week’s “Partner Introduction to the NEW Microsoft Open Value Subscription Program” Live Meeting session, I discussed the “Up-To-Date” discount available through the new Open Value Subscription Program launching in March. This offer provides a discount up to 50%* off the Estimated Retail Price (Remember, I have to use Estimated Retail Prices since Partners determine the final sale price based on their costs and markup from the Distributors) for the first year payment on a new Open Value Subscription Agreement if your client owns the qualifying licenses. To qualify, you simply need to have an existing license for the current version or one version prior to the current version of the Microsoft software you are acquiring through Open Value Subscription.

For instance, let’s say your client has 72 PCs in their company, and of those 72 PCs, 50 have licenses for Windows Vista Business (current version) or Windows XP Professional (1 version prior to current). If they were to start an Open Value Subscription Agreement for the Windows Vista Business Upgrade + SA, they would qualify for the Up-to-date discount pricing on those 50 PCs, while the other 22 would not. This means the client would get the 50%* discount for the first year on those 50 Up-to-date qualified licenses.

Want to learn more about the Up-to-date discount, what products it is offered on and about the Open Value Subscription program as a Microsoft Partner? I’m running an entire “Partner Introduction to the NEW Microsoft Open Value Subscription Program” series for Microsoft Partners, so feel free to join me for one of the upcoming sessions (next one is tomorrow morning) so you know how to offer this to your clients starting March 3rd.

*Calculations are based on estimated retail prices. Reseller prices may vary.
(Yes, the obligatory footnote since we’re talking about prices as noted in parentheses above)
