Some key takeaways about the Comcast/Microsoft announcement from Elliot Curtis

Those of you who joined Tim Schmidt, Elliot Curtis, Mark Crall, and me for today’s “Partners, get answers to your TPAM & Microsoft/Comcast announcement questions live Friday, December 7th” call, you heard Elliot call out some key points about the Microsoft/Comcast announcement made last week as well as a link for Partners to utilize to locate Hosted Exchange Server Partners that any Partner can work with to be able to offer this type of service as well. Here are some of the key points about the Comcast announcement that Elliot called out:

  • This service is solely owned, operated, marketed and sold by Comcast. It does not utilize Live or Online services from Microsoft.
  • Comcast is taking advantage of licensing agreements, products and solutions from Microsoft that are available to any partner to create this service. In fact, there are already over 1,000 companies worldwide offering some type of hosted Exchange or SharePoint services in a similar fashion to Comcast.
  • This IS NOT a joint venture or a special deal, nor does it signify a unique relationship between Microsoft and Comcast.
  • The term “Microsoft Communication Services from Comcast” is a Comcast created brand and is used as the name of the service which Comcast has launched.

In addition, here is the link you can use as a Microsoft Partner if you want to locate a Microsoft Exchange hosting Partner to establish a relationship with in order to offer these services to your clients as well.
