How can our company become a reseller?
A question that comes up from time to time (I just received it again this morning), is, “If we want to start reselling Microsoft software in addition to the services we already provide, how do we become a reseller?” Here is some basic information on how you would accomplish this:
1. Sign up to be a partner in these areas. By signing up, you gain access to additional services and resources that can help you provide licensing. | |
2. Establish a reseller account with an authorized distributor. | Authorized distributors listing:

3. Use training, tools, and resources to help facilitate your success in providing volume licensing to your customers. |

You can find more information like the above information on the Microsoft Partner website HERE
In addition to the resources listed above, we also have several Live Meeting sessions available on demand to provide you with information to grow your Microsoft Licensing business:
- Introduction To Open License for Partners
- Introduction to Office, Windows, and Server Licensing For Partners
- Small Business Desktop Advantage Sales Forums
- Partner Introduction to the Microsoft Open Value Subscription Program
We have a collection of information and resources listed on the Small Business Channel Community: FAQ page and I have posted a list called, “What every Small Business VAR should know about Microsoft” that provides an additional set of resources. If you are a Microsoft Small Business Specialist, you should have also received the “Small Business Desktop Advantage and Volume Licensing Sales Kit” back in June that is filled with information about selling Microsoft licensing, including PPT presentations, handouts, FAQs, webcast replays, over 8 hours of multimedia content, and more. Of course, we have a large collection of licensing information here on the Blog as well.
Hopefully this list helps get you started on your quest to begin selling Microsoft products to your clients.
Thank you and have a wonderful day,
