Latest rounds of lawsuits to help protect Partners selling legitimate software posted

It has been awhile since I have provided the latest update on some of the actions we are taking to help protect our legitimate providers of Microsoft software in the channel against those who choose to distribute counterfeit, illegal, mis-channeled, unbundled, etc. software. This is also a reminder of why you should always be acquiring your software through the Authorized Distributors. If you have not seen the list of recent lawsuits filed by Microsoft, we have them posted for you to view.

For those of you that have been part of the Community for awhile, you may recall some conversations about, “Is Microsoft even listening to the complaints?” since they seemed to have gone on for awhile about one vendor or another, including a slightly edgy post by “Mad Vlad” himself on the topic. As I’ve said before, believe me, we do listen. Sometimes it just takes patience.

So please continue to let us know about people and vendors you see doing shady things and report all suspected piracy to us:

Method 1: E-mail piracy@microsoft.com.

Method 2: Call the Microsoft Anti-Piracy Hotline at (800) RU-LEGIT.

Method 3: Fill out an online reporting form.

Thank you and have a wonderful day,
