Office 365 inspires Activity Based Working down under at AGL Australia

One of the key messages that we routinely discuss in our executive briefings is how we have changed our vision as a company under CEO Satya Nadella. The discussion revolves around this quote:Sayta

“At our core, Microsoft is the productivity and platform company for the mobile-first and cloud-first world. We will reinvent productivity to empower every person and every organization on the planet to do more and achieve more.”

What follows is a great discussion concerning on how we are executing on the vision with our partners and customers with real life examples. A great example hot off the press that aligns with Satya’s message hails from our customer AGL Energy Limited in Australia.

AGL is one of Australia's leading integrated energy companies and largest operator and developer of renewable energy generation in the country. AGL wanted to improve collaboration and create a new work environment. AGL used our cloud based Office 365, Yammer and the unified communications platform Lync to support a series of flexible workspaces that employees seamlessly move between. AGL calls this new work style “Activity-Based Working.”AGL

As Stephen Mikkelsen, AGL’s Group General Manager for Retail Energy says: “With Office 365 and Lync, there’s more collaboration and a higher level of energy in the office—and that’s fantastic. Now, meetings are shorter, sharper and shinier.”

AGL’s employees love the freedom of working and collaborating anywhere in the office. Leadership styles are more proactive, and teamwork is more agile, energetic and inspired. But you don’t have to take it from me, I encourage you to check out the new case study video about how AGL has transformed themselves through “Activity Based Working” by going here.
