Sometimes I wonder “Is anybody reading this blog?” — I know my management asks the same question at times. Reminds me of the pushback I received in the mid 90’s, when I was trying to get one of my employer’s to bless my efforts to put them on the Web. After all, “On the Internet, Nobody Knows You’re a Dog” 🙂
Well, I can tell that there are a lot more than dogs reading this blog today. Our page view tools show that thousands of people take a frequent look. Plus, I get tons of inquires, including requests for giving speeches at conferences as well as customer inquiries and partner connections.
That’s why it was nice to see today that this blog was recognized today by GreenTech Media as a recommended blog. And I also appreciate their adding me to their “The Networked Grid 100: Movers and Shakers of the Smart Grid” report. It was very flattering and nice to have this affirmation of the work we put into the Power & Utilities blog.
But in a way it’s kind of like receiving a Grammy – my acceptance speech needs to recognize my incredible Worldwide Utilities team (too many to mention in this confined space) all of whom make great things happen for our customers and our partners all the time, and who give me great things to blog about year-round. Without them none of this would be happening. It takes a team and I hope they know how much I appreciate them. – Jon C. Arnold
