Visual Studio 2012 and TFS Admin updates

Grant’s not on holiday (ho ho! Snap!), as we can tell because he’s posted a couple of updates about updates! First, Visual Studio:

The Visual Studio Updates are a new mechanism that the team is using to provide ongoing value through the year to Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server customers. For more information on the updates, see:

And also, the community project TFS Admin Tool 2.2’s release:

I am pleased to announce that the TFS Administration Tool 2.2 has been released. This release works against Team Foundation Server 2012 and installs on a machine with Team Explorer 2012 . You no longer need to install Team Explorer 2010 to use this tool.

TFS Admin Tool defined:

The TFS Administration Tool allows Team Foundation Server administrators to manage user permissions on all three platforms utilized by Team Foundation Server:

  1. Team Foundation Server,
  2. SharePoint, and
  3. SQL Server Reporting Services.

The tool also allows administrators to easily copy user permissions among team projects and to easily identify any missing permissions on any of the three platforms.

Enjoy!
