Silverlight will automatically update.

We are sneaky and I love it, but in a good way. You see with Silverlight RC1, one of things you may not of noticed is the "Silverlight Configuration".

Choice is a great thing is it not 🙂

  1. I think it’s cool to point out also that supposedly Silverlight will allow configuration/customization of the pop up menu which adds a space for nice configuration options for Silverlight "apps".

  2. Scott, at first thought I was like "sweet…that is very nice" but is SL going to be backwards compatible (won’t break previous versions)? If so, sweet. If not, auto-upgrade will break sites, correct?

I loved this when they put it into the Flash Player too. I’m just curious about MSFT’s implementation/thoughts.

Default access: Scott Barnes highlights what I missed in the wording from Tim Sneath — it appears that the default option for auto-updates in the upcoming Microsoft Silverlight browser plugin is to silently update: to always accept new code from Microsoft

Dude, that’s like so messed up. I cannot believe microsoft is going to do something like that. Welcome to virus hell. Silverlight is not going to go on my machine thats for sure.

  5. Garry Trinder says:

    AK: Sorry to hear that.
