Augmented Reality: Technology Avatars at Dubai Men’s College

Khalid Al Huraiz, Technology Avatars club leader at Dubai Men’s College, prepared a presentation about Augmented reality where he tested both Microsoft Tag and QR code and highlighted the pros and cons for each. The members of the technology club prepared both types of codes and printed them on badges, caps, and posters. Technology Avatars went on to announce their event on Facebook and internal email distribution. Last Monday, they built the event booth and students and staff passed by between 10-2pm. All club members participated in explaining the technology to the visitors, helped them download the app and scan the club Tag and/or QR code. People were impressed and happy to explore this technology.
This event served very well the slogan of the Technology Avatars club, that is: Discover, Explore, and Share.
