Calling Services from Silverlight 2.0 with Jon Flanders (Level 300)

Microsoft Silverlight 2.0 browser plug-in provides an environment for building rich Internet applications (RIAs). Traditionally, these types of applications relied heavily on services such as Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) for their functionality. In this webcast, we look at the facilities built into Silverlight 2.0 for calling services, and we discuss the options for implementing these services. Presenter: Jon Flanders, Consultant, Pluralsight

Driving Contextual Collaboration with Office Communicator 2007 (Level 300)

In this webcast, we use the Microsoft Unified Communication (UC) platform to create contextual collaboration solutions using IM, voice, and video communications built directly into applications. We start by building presence information into an application using the Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 Presence Controls so users can see if coworkers are available and willing to communicate. Using the Office Communicator software development kit (SDK), we use just a few lines of code to launch IM, voice, video, or conferencing sessions directly from an application. Presenter: Chris Mayo
