Microsoft Book Club Author Webcasts Series to start tomorrow December 14, 2004 at 2:00 PM PST

 

If you guys have never been to a Microsoft Author webcast, now is the time to go to one. Tomorrow morning we've got Bill Evjen presetning along with the founders of the .NET Book Club . Who are these guys??  The .NET Book Club is an online community that promotes the reading and discussion among professional developers and to also provide a forum for bringing together publishers, authors, and their respective audiences. What do you get out of this? A community to share thoughts and ideas with your peers and actually communicate with the authors of the books you've have been reading.

Basic membership to the club is free and offers members discounted books, chapter previews to popular books related to .NET technologies, an online forum, author interviews, and book reviews along with the option to participate in writing your own reviews. Description: The Microsoft Book Club is proud to present ASP.NET 2.0 Beta Preview live with author Bill Evjen. This webcast event is comprised of an author interview followed by a presentation and question and answer session pertaining to the topics of the book.

ASP.NET 2.0 Beta Preview is timed to coincide with the first widespread beta release of Microsoft ASP.NET "Whidbey", the new version of Microsoft's popular technology for creating dynamic Web sites. The book gets developers up to speed with the new features and capabilities that ASP.NET 2.0 provides. ASP.NET 2.0 Beta Preview focuses on both Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and Visual C# developers. Examples throughout the book are provided in both languages.

Presenter: Bill Evjen, with John Alexander and Jeff Julian, .NET Book Club

Bill Evjen is a Technical Director for Reuters and he travels the world speaking to major financial institutions about the future of the IT industry. He has been an active proponent of Microsoft .NET technologies and community-based learning initiatives since bits were released in 2000. Bill is an acclaimed author and speaker on ASP.NET and XML Web services.

John Alexander is a Principal of TechLiteracy, LLC, the company responsible for the .NET Book Club. John is a recognized Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) and Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), and has served as the Microsoft Regional Director for the Kansas City Region for the last five years.

Jeff Julian is a Principal of TechLiteracy, LLC, the company responsible for the .NET Book Club. Jeff is a Microsoft MVP in the area of XML, co-chairman of the INETA Academic Committee, and co-leader of the Kansas City .NET User Group.
