Subscriptions sign in and Windows LiveId issues should be completely resolved now

As I have posted elsewhere, fixes for all of our Subscriptions web site and Windows LiveId sign in issues have been installed into our production system.  If you still have issues signing into Windows LiveId and visiting the Subscriptions web sites, I’d love to hear from you – because you are experiencing a problem that we aren’t aware of.  Please sign into the blog and email me from my profile page with your contact details and I’ll get you some help.

I am trying to get my ‘Windows Live ID’ password reset, but am not receiving

the email message to get it reset.

I forgot my password from what I set it to be recently.

  2. Michael ASHWORTH says:

I am having an error 1721 and 1603.

  3. SubscriptionsBlogger2 says:

What specifically are/were you trying to do when you get those errors? I don’t recognize those error IDs.

  4. Andres O. says:

Download manager does not start. Two days same situation.

Tested under IE7 (which _did_ work last week) and Mozilla 3. No luck at all.

[Chris responds: I’ll need a little more info than what you have provided in order to assist you. What page were you on, what download were you trying to invoke, etc.  You can also log into the blog and contact me privately via my profile page.]

  5. Milind Jambhekar says:

I get the following error trying to download anything from the Downloads page

    Alert – Error

    Duration (GMT-8): Monday, November 03, 2008 9:54:43 AM To (GMT-8): Wednesday, November 05, 2008 12:00:00 PM

    Last Updated (GMT-8): Monday, November 03, 2008 9:54:43 AM

    Benefit or Service:  Impact:

    Retail purchase and renewal system

    Is currently unavailable

    User Action:

    Please try again later.

[Chris responds: The error alert is a new feature that has just been deployed.  It is possible you are experiencing an error case that we didn’t catch.  Can you please detail your exact repro steps (what you did to encounter the error) as well as your browser version, OS, etc?]

  6. SubscriptionsBlogger2 says:

    Milind:

Your post does not make sense. The "error" you have pasted above is an announcement on the downloads and subscriptions home pages that is alerting customers that the RETAIL PURCHASE system is unavailable. It has zero impact on the downloads and their availaibility.

You need to log in to access your downloads just like any other day.

  7. Napier Williams says:

Same Alert Error as Milind Jambhekar above at 19.15 GMT – not too happy about wasting more time until I see a more enticing reccommendation.

[Chris responds: See my post above on Milind.  Please provide the same info.]

  8. SubscriptionsBlogger2 says:

Napier – as pointed out to Milind. The current system error applies ONLY to retail purchasing. There is NO impact on your ability to access your downloads or keys.

  9. chris doyle says:

System logs me in, but says I am not a subscriber and denies access to keys.

  10. SubscriptionsBlogger2 says:
