I spent the afternoon here at SD Expo going back and forth between sessions. I was stuck deciding between Christian Gross's "Ajax for Web Developers" session and Michele Bustamante's ".NET Technology Road Map: Grasp the Avalanche of Technologies Before You." It takes eight hours to fully present a road map of .NET technologies.
The show floor opened this evening as well. There was a lot of buzz around the Dr. Dobb's Second Life space. You can dgo to Dr Dobbs Island in Second Life, hang out with people, discuss development, and so on.
I don't know if it's because I'm not a gaming aficionado, if it's because I have problems with my First Life, or if it's because I'm old, but I'm not sure I get it yet. I can still go to text-based forums to talk with people when I need to, and with text, no one knows that I'm dressed up as a giant rabbit with wings. That said, it looks to be popular, and development for Second Life has been growing, so maybe I need to get on the bandwagon.
