Over on the TechNet Magazine blog, Josh wrote a good post about what we look for in proposals for articles for TechNet Magazine.  Substitute "developer" for "IT" and "MSDN" for "TechNet", and you'll find a good guideline for what we look for in proposals for MSDN Magazine.  When you have your proposal written, definitely send it our way.
