Mission: Springboard from Mortarboard to Onboard

I started this blog because I wanted a place to encapsulate all the opportunities that Microsoft has for students.  When I joined Microsoft as an academic evangelist, I learned about a lot of great programs and ideas of which most students were unaware.  A lot of these programs existed when I was in school, but years later were still new to me.  As a part of the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Challenge, I am taking some time to focus and improve on my blogging effort.  Our first task is to lay our the mission of the blog.

Here is the Mission of Springboard:

Springboard is a blog focused on student opportunities, helping students ramp up from college (mortarboard) to employment (onboard).  Springboard hopes to connect students to technologies by breaking down barriers.  Springboard strives to drive awareness of:

  • students doing cool things on with technology
  • student offerings from Microsoft
  • out-of-class opportunities
  • cool upcoming things from Microsoft
