The initial size of Microsoft Dynamics CRM

I got this question to many times and it made me search to much as well. So I thought lets put it onhere so every one including myself can find it quick and easy.

Initial size of the Microsoft CRM 3.0 server installation
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\crm = approximately 25 MB
C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM = >approximately 100 MB

Initial size of the Microsoft SQL Database
C:\Microsoft SQL Server\Data\databasename = 50 MB

As a Microsoft consultant I too am asked these types of questions — but when my 7 year old has a 220GB drive in her computer it’s ironic that some clients are really concerned with a size of a 100MB installation. (^_^)

Well I agree with you, but I also know that a lot of Enterprise customers have to "buy" space (MB’s) on the company’s SAN. It will cost money..so in order to not spend to much money and not to buy too little they want to know up front.

The hard thing is that you can not predict the growth of a CRM database. Nobody knows how well users are going to work with it, how big emails they archive and so on and so on…
