Great tip when creating page layouts
Came across some must-know information, if you create page layouts and have trouble updating the layouts.
When creating publishing page layouts they are nicely wrapped in features to avoid customization of the pages in SharePoint. However, if you use SharePoint Designer to create/modify your page layouts it will automatically add meta information to the page, which tells SharePoint always to customize the page.
