ACORD Creates New Working Group for the Forthcoming XML Standards

The ACORD Standards Committee (ASC) has approved the formation of the ACORD Messaging Library Working Group (AML WG). This effort will support the ASC decision to pursue the strategic direction on messaging.

The ACORD Messaging Library will be ACORD's next generation business payload XML standard. Over time, iteratively, each of ACORD's three business domains will move to this new standard. These three domains encompass Life, Annuity & Health (LAH), P&C/Surety (PCS), and Reinsurance & Large Commercial Lines (RLC). It is important to note that the new standard is not intended to immediately replace any existing Standards and ACORD is committed to continuing to provide support to implementers of the current standards. This new standard will conform with the underlying Naming & Design Rules documentation, rules upon which all new ACORD XML standards must comply (naming conventions, definitions of simple data types, etc.).
