ACORD Unified Messaging Update

As you seen from earlier posts regarding ACORD they are going through the process of redefining their XML standard. This will be both an iterative and length process. I believe that it is essential they do this. In order to determine what are the right messaging standards the "big bang approach" just does not work. By iterative releasing incremental changes it allows insurance companies to try these new standards to see how viable they really are. What was traditionally a long and complex project now is a proof of concept in a sense.

This strategy has some interesting implications for the Joint Technical Working Groups at ACORD. A short definition of each of these groups is provided below along with an impact analysis relating to the unified XML messaging standard.
