ASP.NET AJAX 4.0 Preview 4 Setup

If you’re having some trouble getting the ASP.NET AJAX 4.0 Preview setup working (the ReadMe is a little ambiguous), Wally McClure has a very helpful post on the subject. For the benefit of the spiders, you could be seeing either of these errors:

  • Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager is null or not an object
  • Object doesn’t support this property or method on a call to Type._registerScript
