Another Break in Transmission

Yes, crazy though it is, we're setting off tomorrow on a 600+ mile trip to Skye in our 38 year old VW camper. Skye must be one of the most majestically beautiful places on earth yet I've never visited. When we got our camper we promised ourselves a trip up there and the time has come. It's going to be an adventure!

Normal service (if there is such a thing) will resume in about 10 days... If we make it back that is...

Have a great break Mike but I sincerely hope that your map illustration isn’t your route plan!  It’s going to be a bumpy trip if so.  And rather wet around Edinburgh. 🙂

  2. NW Skye is indeed one of the best places on earth in my opinion!  Stop off in the Three Chimneys – awesome!

Thanks Pete – no that wasn’t an accurate representation of our route :-). It was quite bumby as it happens and we did get drenched (and hailstones) around Leamington Spa then drenched again north of Loch Lomond. Not as wet as if we’d followed that route around Edniburgh though…

Apologies to anyone on the M40 / M42 / M6 or M1 that found themselves behind us on any sort of gradient…

Kevin – we went close to the Three Chimneys but I’d seen mixed reports so we made do with The Old Schoolhouse in Dunvegan which, after a slighty frosty reception (we hadn’t booked) turned out to be pretty good. Mike
