DevWeek Session – Building ASP.NET AJAX Controls

Thanks to everyone who came along yesterday. I was concerned that I may end up talking to an empty room as I was up against Jeff Prosise’s Silverlight 2 session. In the end I needn’t have worried as there was a good crowd of people there eager to hear about ASP.NET AJAX controls. Phew.

A few people asked for my demos so I’ve published both the slide deck and the demos.

I should mention that the website is optimised for display at 1024×768 (the resolution we use for projecting). In other words, it will look odd (terrible) at higher resolutions as the background image is 1024×768. If it’s really upsetting you, just delete/rename Background.jpg in the Images folder or change the background rule for the body element in Images/Default.css by removing the background-image.

I intend to distill some of that down and write a few blog posts about the basics of building and using components, behaviours and controls and wrapping them as ASP.NET server controls.
