I'm a bit late with this news but if you haven't seen it already it's worth checking out http://www.tafiti.com, a Silverlight front-end to Live Search. The description in the FAQ is:

What is Tafiti?

Tafiti, which means "do research" in Swahili, is an experimental search front-end from Microsoft, designed to help people use the Web for research projects that span multiple search queries and sessions by helping visualize, store, and share research results. Tafiti uses both Microsoft Silverlight and Live Search to explore the intersection of richer experiences on the Web and the increasing specialization of search.

I'm not going to be overly gushing about it as I'm not convinced it tackles a problem I'm facing but I will say two things:

  • Hats off to the people who built it as it scales well (this can be tricky) and, as Tim Anderson says, it just works
  • The Tree View is very cool. Gratuitous perhaps, but cool all the same 🙂

I created a quick walkthrough with screen shots on using Tafiti.

It is pretty impressive that a team of 5 were able to create this application. I think this really demonstrates some of the capabilities of Silverlight.
