Pick of Mix - Some Sessions to Watch

All sessions are being made available at https://sessions.visitmix.com. If you're a developer, or the developer angle is your primary interest, then here are a few sessions I'd recommend (not all are available yet. Keep an eye on the above page or subscribe to the RSS feed):

Day 1
  • The Keynote (Ray Ozzie, Scott Guthrie et al)
  • DEV11 - Building Rich Web Experiences using Silverlight and JavaScript for Developers (NB: I couldn't get into this it was so full)
  • DEV14 - Using Visual Studio Codename Orcas to Design and Develop Rich Ajax Enabled Websites (this isn't specifically about AJAX so I think the titles a bit misleading - I left after a short while as I've already seen Scott Guthrie's 'What's not in Orcas for the Web Developer' webcast - but if you haven't seen it, this should be a good tour of the new features
  • DEV20 - Developing Data Driven Applications Using the New Dynamic Data Controls in ASP.NET (didn't see this one I'm afraid but should be an interesting session)
  • XD003 - AJAX Patterns with ASP.NET (terrific session covering areas such as factoring out your code from your markup to data indexing to back button and persistent link support with AJAX)
Day 2
  • DEV22 + DEV07 - Building Silverlight Applications Using .NET (a little slow to start in session 1 but skip forward a bit. For me the demo app was a little too complex to clearly illustrate all the concepts covered but there were a lot of concepts covered!)
  • DEV05 - Developing ASP.NET AJAX Controls with Silverlight (another excellent session by Nikhil. Even if you just want to learn about AJAX Controls there's lots of good stuff in here. But add Silverlight into the Mix and watch Nikhil build a rich photo album control with fade and zoom effects. Lovely demos well explained.)
  • DEV08 - Go Deep with AJAX (again, incredibly packed so I'll be watching the video but should be a good session)
  • Keynote (Robbie Bach) - A business focused session looking at the principles of marketing in today's environment. Was actually very good with a great spot by the BBC amongst others.
