SPARK contest finalists named (watch the videos)

The finalists for the SPARK contest have been named – this from the SPARK contest web site.

Listed in alphabetical order:

Doug Conn, aka ‘CogswellCogs,’ – “The Smart Pill”: An intelligent medication dispenser that combines disparate technologies into a machine that recognizes a patient’s medications, understands the pharmaceutical information, and helps the user take the correct medication at the right time.

Jason Hershkowitz, aka ‘JHershkowitz,’ – “Home Brain System (HBS)”: A central nervous system that manages network-enabled devices in the home, allowing them to function together based on the occupants’ wants and needs.

Scott Reed, aka ‘yasth,’ – “Computing at a Glance”: Extends ambient computing into a natural, two-way interface through eye motion and a few simple, natural gestures.
Please join me in congratulating the 3 finalist who will go on to compete for the grand prize of $15,000 at ESC Silicon Valley, March 30th - April 2nd, at the McEnery Convention Center San Jose.

The finalist will travel at Microsoft’s expense to present their solution during the industry address on March 31st by Kevin Dallas, General Manager of Windows Embedded.
