Spending two weeks on the road can be a harrowing experience, here’s some of the sights and sounds from Embedded World Germany and ESC China/Shenzhen.
First the eating shots…
Here’s a shot of Mike Glass, the new Group Program Manager for the Embedded Windows team (an accomplished sword swallower) eating a whole fish in Nuremberg, Germany.
Next up is the Snail eating competition, also at the Fish restaurant in Nuremberg, Germany – Chris (left) has just eaten a snail and I’m just about to (very nice!)
and the World Famous “Liver Cheese” (Leberkäse) which turned out to be the meal of choice at the Embedded World event in Germany, and interestingly doesn’t contain Liver or Cheese!
Nutella Pizza with a blob of vanilla ice cream for desert at the Sheraton hotel in Shenzhen!
While looking for a good place to eat in Nuremberg we found this pub close to the castle, for some reason we decided not to eat here – any place that apologizes for being open doesn’t bode well for the food (or beer) you find inside.
Booth Shot… Here’s a shot of the Microsoft Booth at the Embedded Systems Conference in Shenzhen – note the two floors on the booth on the right – upstairs was for press and customer meetings.
Talking of press meetings – Here’s the PR team from APAC (Adam Jaffe, PR manager for Microsoft, Redmond is wearing the blue shirt).
And while we’re on the subject of press meetings, here’s some of the local Chinese press just after a panel interview.
Keeping track of all the comments I make during the interviews is Adam Jaffe – the “PR Police”, notice the stressful look as I’m in full flow talking about developer technologies (some of which I probably shouldn’t have been talking about!)
And here’s Kevin Dallas, General Manager for the Windows Embedded Business at Microsoft doing a TV interview.
So that’s the sights, what about the sounds ? – Back to the Tuba!
