Surviving LinuxWorld (again!)

It's interesting to see that when Linux developers hear the word "Microsoft" they immediately think "Crash!" (for some totally unknown reason) - so, given that LinuxWorld was running this week in Sunny old SFO it seemed appropriate for some of the Microsoft Embedded team to "Crash" LinuxWorld.

This is the third year that we've been setting up camp close to the event and inviting Linux developers to come and have a chat about embedded operating system design, development, tools, and of course drink beer and eat food for FREE!

Even though we had heard that the LinuxWorld conference was fairly quiet this year we had an amazing turn out at our Embedded gathering (the numbers keep growing every year!) - here's a photo from the event, it was pretty hard to move around the room, even harder to whip out the laptop and give a demo of some really cool tools (although I did manage a number of demos of .NET Micro Framework, Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded, and Microsoft Robotics Studio) - More photos and a write up available on the WindowsForDevices site.

If you turned up at Jillians let me know if you have any comments about the gathering... Looks like we're going to be coming back again next year!
