The CCR/DSS programming model is based around the concept of late-bound, loosely coupled services communicating using the REST based programming model, which is probably familiar to you if you've been doing web based programming. Robotics is an interesting application for these technologies, but many of the same concepts can also be applied to embedded systems development.
