Speech Enabling your Windows CE Device.

There seems to be some confusion around Speech Enabling a Windows CE embedded device - Windows CE 5.0 exposes a set of Speech API's known as SAPI (or Speech API), this doesn't include a speech engine, which is a required component - you will need to license a speech engine from a company such as ScanSoft - ScanSoft has both speech recognition and text to speech engines available for a wide variety of languages.

I've not seen how easy their engine is to integrate into a Windows CE device, but would certainly like to see how this works - perhaps ScanSoft have a demo of integrating the engine into a device, if not, I would certainly be interested in getting an evaluation drop of the product and walk through the steps of speech enabling a device - that would be kinda cool, wouldn't it ?

ScanSoft have a demo page that shows how good their speech engine is, just drop some text on the page and have it played back to you - here's a sample WAV file from the page (287kb wav file).
