ASCII Art with C# and ASP .NET

Ascii_CodeProjectThis weeks CodeProject e-mail arrived with the usual interesting topics covering managed application development, controls, tools, Win32, C++, MFC etc… (I’d like to see more embedded articles on CodeProject – perhaps I need to start writing some) – one article that jumped out at me was drawing ASCII art from an image using C# and ASP.NET.

My Aunt and Uncle have an ASCII art picture of their kids in their lounge, I used to use ASCII art to test thermal matrix printers back in the early 80’s – at about the same time I was also working with 8–hole paper tape readers, CP/M-80 operating system, modems that required you to plug the telephone handset into the top of the modem (am I showing my age here?).

Anyhow, I thought this was pretty cool, go check out the article here

Maybe I need to write more original articles on the CodeProject than I do now to get them mentioned here on the MSDN blogs… 🙁 😉

I to enjoyed Daniel code. So much so that I enhanced it to better render images small and large images as ASCII. If you want a copy, just email me:

  3. Nice to read that u like it 😉
