FurryGoat – Windows CE on a USB Key.

Steve Makofsky has been having some fun – check out the “Portable CE” project over on the FurryGoat blog.

Steve has a USB key with an emulator image of Windows CE booting, from here he can run his Internet Browser or local applications – this means that he can take the USB key to any PC and have his favorite settings and apps available to him – pretty cool, eh!

…and how long has this been possable with Linux?

  2. James Risto says:

I got the following on setup /a: "this installation package cannot be opened. verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or …". I am WinXP+SP2.

  3. Steve says:

That will happen if you run:

    setup /a destination

You need to just run "setup /a"

Correct; I have been running "setup /a". I tried a Win2K machine as well; no go. Do I need Visual Studio or anything else installed already? Or direct connection (i.e. no proxy) to the internet? Can you kick the files my way in a .ZIP? Sorry to be a pain, but I need to check this out. I also tried signing up for the WinCE eval, and same deal on its SETUP.EXE.
