This week saw the Microsoft Research (MSR) Faculty Summit (read BillG's Faculty Summit Keynote here), there were a number of really cool demo's being shown in the Demo Fest, some of which are reported in the online edition of the Seattle PI one of the demos uses an operating system from Microsoft Research called mmLite (part of the invisible computing initiative) - I've heard about this operating system on and off for a few years now, yesterday was the first time I've seen hardware running the operating system - MSR now have mmLite available as a download from the research web site - click here to get more information.
