SPOT Watch – new face :O)

Earlier this week I downloaded a new watch face for my SPOT watch - It's growing on me, I've had this running as my default face for most of the week

I have a SPOT watch, my laptop (a Toshiba M200 Tablet PC), and a Pocket PC Phone Edition - 15 minutes before any appointment I have bells, sirens, and bleeps going off all over the place... - I'm also getting Instant Messages being delivered to the watch (which is nice).

New channels are popping up all over the place, I can now get Quote of the Day, Word of the day, sports scores... let's hope there's an RSS feed headline channel in the works.

It would also be great to be able to develop your own watch face and share this with the world... let's hope that's also in the works...

  1. Let’s also hope that some way to get this stuff outside of the US is also in the works 😉

Great weblog – I’ve got the same equipment and it’s changed everything for me! Particularly the TabletPC – I got mine when they first came out (Toshiba) and now I can’t do without it. I know the SPOT watch is just starting it’s product lifecycle… I also want to see an RSS feed capability. Let’s get it into Outlook too!

Same as Scott, SPOT is cool, I have only a Sony Notebook(As my girlfriend don’t like tablet PC), and a HP PPC.

    Let’s hope I can get a SPOT in China… Sigh. 🙁

I’m not sure what the plans are for rolling SPOT out world-wide, I will go visit one of the folks over in the SPOT team and ask the question, it might also be good to get an interview out of them for MSDN Channel 9 – I will ping the Scoble to see if he’s up for it.

I find it fascinating that once we get this technology we rely on it sooooo much – I really can’t go all day without getting online to sync e-mail (which is why the Pocket PC phone edition is so useful – I can stay totally up to date with my e-mail no matter where I am), and can even post to this blog directly from the Pocket PC – I love the fact that the SPOT watch gives me calendar sync – if I’m heading for a meeting in a different building I just need to look at the watch to figure out which building/office I should be heading for.
