Sumobot – here’s what you have to look forward to at the devcon party…

Over the weekend I went to the Seattle Robotics Society meeting in Renton to get a good look at how a Sumobot Competition is run - Delegates attending the Windows Embedded Devcon will have the chance to build their own sumobot and tinker with the search and destroy code before going into battle... here's a short video that shows the sumobots in action...

it's here

How certain are you that the windows embedded conference will do sumobot instead of another ultimate architect?

  2. Mike says:

Fairly sure… the sumobots for the competition are sat in boxes outside my office… – why ?

There are a bunch of Iowans out here that are coming to the conference. Wanted to know if it was worth our time to start reading up on sumobots…. We don’t want to get our butts kicked! Last time, my team came in 2nd in the boat race finals, we want a rematch…

You could start reading up on the Parallax Sumobot and Stamp Basic, the rules don’t allow you to bring any code with you though (no cheating!!!) – we will be running a session at Devcon for the teams to show how to configure the remote debug connection and a walk through of some sample code for the robots…

    Good Luck!
