Devcon 2004 - Sumobot, small robot, big competition...

We're running sumobot competitions at this years Windows Embedded Devcon - So I've been doing some research on Sumobots - I had no idea that sumobot “wrestling“ was so huge world wide... I've pasted some information from the following web site.

https://www.nwrst.com/IRST/index.html

Each year, in Japan, over 4,000 new robot sumo teams are formed to build and compete in a 4 month long tournament season to see who can build the most powerful sumo robots. Many of the competing teams are high school teams that put their knowledge of science, engineering, mathematics, electronics, computer programming, and mechanical fabrication skills together to build a champion sumo robot. This event has helped to inspire many young students to enter the professional career fields of science and engineering.

During the past 10 years, this event has slowly spread across the world, and now has become one of the most popular robotics contests ever created.

I have to say that I'm really looking forward to the competition at the conference, this is going to be a ton of fun...
