Business Ready Licensing – The Power of Choice

So one of the themes of Microsoft CRM is the Power of Choice. That allows customers to choose on premise or hosted. (And later in the fiscal year Microsoft Hosted aka CRM Live.) We offer a ton of choices in the licensing of CRM from Open Business to Enterprise Agreements.

Our Dynamics ERP Packages are licensed and paid for in a completely different way and we have just rolled out a new licensing program for ERP customers called “Business_Ready” Licensing.

Lost amongst the numerous announcements at Worldwide Partner Conference was the fact that CRM is now on the Business_Ready licensing program as well. I think it was overlooked because of all of the other announcements. J

If you are NOT a Dynamics ERP Partner, there is no difference to you as a partner. The biggest change to our Dynamics ERP partners is that you will be able to make the same margin on CRM as you are used to making on the ERP Products.

The net net is that this is still evolving and we will keep you up to date as they come available. Pricing for CRM on the Business_Ready Licensing program is NOT available yet, but I foresee more details being available in the next 60-90 days.

In addition to existing user types and modules on the Microsoft Dynamics ERP price lists there will be a new and separate user type called “Microsoft Dynamics CRM user” (Price and Final name is still TBD).

For Microsoft Dynamics ERP customers who are on the Business Ready Licensing program:

The Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server will be made available at no additional charge to customers who are current on their Enhancement Plan and who are on the Advanced Management edition of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP product.

The Microsoft CRM user will be available for purchase to all customers with the Advanced Management edition for the Microsoft Dynamics ERP product.

For Microsoft Dynamics ERP customers who are NOT on the Business Ready Licensing program:

The Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server will be made available at no additional charge to customers who are current on the Enhancement plan for their Microsoft Dynamics ERP PRO product.

The Microsoft Dynamics CRM user will be available for purchase to all Microsoft Dynamics ERP PRO customers.

When Microsoft Dynamics CRM is being sold via one of the Dynamics ERP price lists, it is a prerequisite that the customer has one of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP products. For customers who want to buy Microsoft CRM separately they will continue to be able to purchase Microsoft CRM via the normal Volume Licensing channels.

Partners who attach Dynamics CRM with a Dynamics ERP solution, can sell off the Dynamics ERP price list and no longer need to submit a separate order through the Volume Licensing and CSA program.

There may be cases where Dynamics ERP customers would prefer to buy Dynamics CRM via Volume Licensing because of their Volume Licensing model and agreement. We offer that choice. In the same way it will be possible for customers to compliment an initial purchase of Dynamics CRM via one of the Dynamics ERP price lists with additional seat purchases via Volume Licensing.
