Microsoft will welcome some of the brightest students in the world to Seattle this July for the 15th annual Imagine Cup. Dozens of judges will have the difficult task of selecting the final four teams to compete in the World Championship on July 27 at 09:00 PDT.

Let's meet this year's World Finalists competition judges and find out what they are looking forward to seeing in the innovations at Imagine Cup.

What are the judges excited to see?

Charlotte Yarkoni, Microsoft Corporate Vice President, will be judging in her first Imagine Cup; when asked what she is eager to see Charlotte remarked, “Students represent the future. They are our tomorrow and Imagine Cup is a way to both learn and showcase the innovations that are top of mind for the university talent of today that will shape the future."

When it comes to student talent, Diego Rejtman, Sr. Director of Microsoft’s Global University Recruiting team, knows a thing or two about the incredible contributions these young developers can make. “Technology grows exponentially, and the next 20 years are going to be incredible,” said Rejtman, “Imagine Cup gives me an opportunity to meet the students that will make it all happen.”

As an Associate at Madrona Venture Group in Seattle, Linda Lian is constantly on the lookout for innovators that will shape the world of tomorrow; Lian is excited to see “the disruptive ideas that will change the future of how people interact with their world and each other.”

Celebrating 15 years of Imagine Cup

With a goal of empowering every student developer on the planet to achieve more, Microsoft's Imagine Cup is a platform for students around the world to bring their unique ideas and technical solutions to the table.  Imagine Cup ushered in its 15th year with a challenge to students to create unique solutions that run in the cloud, and they responded by bringing their ideas to life using a broad range of powerful Microsoft cloud services such as Azure Machine Learning, Azure App Services and Azure Virtual Machines, just to name a few. Students also tapped into cloud-powered AI solutions, including Cognitive Services, the Microsoft Bot Framework and data analytics tools like Power BI.
