Your vision of the enterprise data centre - does it have a future?

Cloud is big. And by the looks of things, it's going to grow to become the main focus for enterprise IT in the coming years - whether through public or private cloud.

But where does this leave our faithful old datacentre? Does it still have a future in enterprise IT? Are we looking at some kind of combination where a happy balance is struck between traditional data centres and cloud?

It's a meaty topic - and one we'd love to discuss with you.

Welcome to #microlunch

The Microsoft Enterprise Team are excited to be launching #microlunch a LIVE Twitter forum where you have an opportunity to connect with Microsoft authorities and thought leaders during hourly lunch time sessions. This first #microlunch discussion will take place at lunchtime on 27th February from 12 noon to 1PM .and will be an excellent opportunity to discuss the future of the datacentre directly with us and your peers. One of the data centre authorities waiting for your comments and questions will be Wayne Meyer - Microsoft's UK Windows Server Product Manager. Leading up to this event we are providing some great datacentre related articles so keep an eye on the #microlunch tag now for the latest insights and don’t forget to join us at #microlunch for the 'future of the datacentre' discussion at the end of the month.

We plan to use the #microlunch tag for further topics of discussion in the future so if there are particular IT trends or business solutions you would like to engage with us on just let us know via this blog.

In the meantime, here's our second thought-provoking article called 'Prepare to greet the data centre of 2023 . If you missed the first article it’s here – A Vision for the data centre.
