MOSS Labcast - Enterprise Search

Join us for this one-day labcast to gain a greater understanding of MOSS 2007’s search capabilities. This labcast training is made up of five modules that include a combination of lecture and hands-on virtual labs.

What is a labcast? An online training that provides a hands-on virtual lab where you can perform tasks yourself with step-by-step guidance from Microsoft professionals, giving you experience-based knowledge on the MS product. If you face challenges walking through your lab, our instructors can virtually share your view and take control of your lab to literally guide you through the process.

At the end of the class you will be able to design, configure, and manage a basic Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 search solution. You will learn how to improve the end-user experience and the results returned by their search query, connect and access external content sources, and extend the out-of-the-box search capabilities. Topics such as relevancy tuning, protocol handlers and customization are covered and followed by hands-on virtual lab. (200-300 level training).

Attendees will receive one copy of Inside the Index and Search Engines: Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server 2007 by Patrick Tisseghem and Lars Fastrup.

Topics covered include:

1. MOSS 2007 Search Overview

2. MOSS 2007 Administration

3.  Customizing and Extending MOSS 2007 Search

4. Search Server 2008
