  7. Carles says:

YeaH! That Linux Stick roolz! And Tigger also! I agree it’s time to Vista, let’s see what we can get about it.

  8. Michael Howard has a great little poster hanging on his office door. I agree with Nick White : I thought

  9. SabayonRulz says:

Congrats for your Vista change. I’ll, however, stick with my Gentoo Linux + Beryl -very nice 3D effects without the need of a Pentagon supercomputer to run them :D-

  10. Lubomir says:

Very nice, Michael. I’ll stick that on my whiteboard too, for that I do not have any XP either. I run Fedora ;o)

  11. What BIOS are you using for your lappie system? Vista and mine give me horrible issues over power managemnent! I am XP’d for now….

  12. I’m using a Tecra M5 with a pre-release BIOS. There were some known issues a while ago with video drivers and power management, but these are fixed.

  13. Tyler says:

could you share the regular vista partner poster?

thank you again for this nice poster

  16. Nameless says:

My linux box has 4 desktops wich I can rotate as a cube. Beryl is way much better than aero. Go linux!

  17. Stallman says:

What a couple of windows users!!!

    F*ck you, nerds!

  18. NeoCalderon says:

"My other machine is your Linux box".

    I doubt it deeply.

  19. blackhat says:

Your linux box sticker is very poor.

  20. ICeman says:

It’s fun to see how Microsoft is compiting with itself, now trying to replace XP; while Linux and Mac is taking over the market. Like playing violing while the Titanic is sinking. I advice to look for a new job. Redhat maybe?

  21. primer says:

He has that linux poster to seem a professional. If he had an poster with "My other machine is your windows box" he will be like another script kiddie with 2000 windows zombie boxes under his control ;).

    Take it easy.

  22. Nameless: "My linux box has 4 desktops wich I can rotate as a cube"

Wow, that’s so cool – do you just spin the cube all day?

  23. To the Linux guys.

Guys, you really have to get passed this religious stuff, we’re talking about operating systems!

  24. >To the Linux guys.

    >

    >Guys, you really have to get passed this religious stuff, we’re >talking about operating systems!"

yeah, linux is NOT an operating system, it’s a kernel, go learn something you l*mer.

It’s not about unix or linux, it’s about FREE software. Do you really think that Vista is more secure than a gnu/linux box? oh my… perhaps we are always spining a cube, but you should stop smoking so much.

Do you really think that aero is cooler than beryl? Go buy some good taste (or better, go try beryl and stop licking privative shoes).

I’m sure that you are not a silly person (or perhaps i’m wrong), but talkin’ about linux (again, a kernel, you should talk about GNU OS) and religion… is like talking about M$ and freedom.

Go buy a book*(1), please, and stop flooding the net with nonsenses.

    Thanks a lot,

    Sergio.

*(1):a written or printed work of fiction or nonfiction, usually on sheets of paper fastened or bound together within covers.

  25. Sergio.

    >>you really think that Vista is more secure than a gnu/linux box?

    yes.

    >>Go buy a book*(1), (a written or printed work of fiction or nonfiction, usually on sheets of paper fastened or bound together within covers. )

i know what a book is – i have written six.

  26. Sergio says:

    >>you really think that Vista is more secure than a gnu/linux box?

    >yes.

Have you renamed the NSAKEY variable in Vista’s source code?

Is it true that a few Vista developers were fired because of being involved with Al Quaeda (devs. from India) and trying to code a backdoor? (not a hoax).

I do compile, i do use. Have you compiled all the programs you use? Do you trust the NSA? Sure you are a nice person (you have published my other comment, I really thought that you won’t), but, do you really trust everybody in the building tasks? Is the NSA involved in any way in the release of any binary files?

I’m not talking just about the bugs, that ofcourse will be found, and exploited, as they are discovered in every OS, included (rank #1) winnt/win32/win64.

    > i know what a book is – i have written six.

I’m not talking about writting, but reading. I *DO* respect your real skills, but please, go read about the difference between OS and kernel.

But don’t give up, you have written six books.

The one who pays you, the one who owns you? Nice religion. If I’m not agree with (e.g) R.Stallman, i’m not going to defend him. And, in a way, I’ve been paid many times thanks to his work.

Of course, this is not personal. Again, I’m sure you are a nice person but, please please please, do not mix free software with Linux, because our kernel do suck as much as yours (well, not as much really, because we do know it deeply). I do not like Mr. Tolvards, ’cause in the end he’s like you all at M$.

    Good luck Michael.

  27. Sergio, I’ve never heard of people being fired in India because they are members of Al Quida. Sounds like a hoax to me. Just like the conspiracy theories around NSAKEY.
