Dragon Storm, Saturday, SCI-FI channel: I want my two hours back.
I sat through that rubish tonight. I had it recorded on TiVo. TiVo is great and all, and someday I'll write a glowing review and share all my wonderful experiences, but tonight the whole experience just sort of stank. I caught glimpses of ads for Dragon Storm during my recordings of Stargate SG1. I've been watching Stargate in full throttle mode since I picked up TiVo last year. I had never watched the series and now am hooked, seeing all past season at a thunderous clip as I record 7 to 8 episodes a week. The ads looked a bit cheese ball, so I should have taken warning, but nothing prepared me for just how bad it was.
Let's just say that the whole show ran like the nightmare of a really bad D&D session. I must have rolled a 1 and failed by sense-motive skill. Or maybe I should have trained up in sense-stupid. It was an 'impulse' record, and once it was up on the menu it was destined to be watched. I was not all my fault either. My wife was suckered in too. I think we'll need to cleanse ourselves of television for a while. We might just skip tomorrows Stargate's altogether. But that would put us a day behind.
Why didn't we turn it off? Well, we where both sort of vegetables after the day we've had. I don't even know how to start on that one yet. I'll have to mull it over in my sleep and see what I come up with. It's likely I'll see clearly in a dream, just like Gilligan and the radio, and then maybe there will be something to read tomorrow.
But I digress
