Where am I, and what's this ring on my finger?

A few non-technical posts going forward. The reason: This is my first week back in the office after my three week epic wedding/honeymoon.

The whole experience was fantastic, but exhausting. Since many of our guests were from out of town, we ended up having:

  • A party for 25 on Friday night,
  • A BBQ for 65  on Saturday
  • A 90 person wedding on Sunday
  • A 50 person BBQ on Monday, July 4th

My son came out for the week and we squeezed in lots of Xbox in-between things.

The wedding itself turned out very well. It was at a golf club overlooking Seattle and the Eastside. We were a bit concerned about the weather the day before, but the sun made a very strong appearance all day Sunday. In fact, the hardest part of the ceremony was trying not to squint. At one point the officiant stopped and told me it was OK to put my sun glasses on.

The reception was great, and the mojitos were a big hit. In fact, they ran out before Carrie and I managed to snag one from the third round of them. (Eventually a pitcher was set aside for us.)  Other than the wedding cake (of which there’s lots left over), I have no recollection of what we ate, but I’m told it was good.

After people headed back home on Tuesday, we had a few days in which to prep for the honeymoon. Next stop: The Galapagos.
