Desplegando Apps en mi Dispositivo Windows Phone - Poniendo todo junto

Este post reúne información de distintas fuentes sobre cómo probar tu aplicación Windows Phone 8 en tu propio dispositivo.

Para poder probar tu aplicación en Windows Phone 8, debemos instalarla directamente en el dispositivo (lo que se conoce como "side loading"). Para eso, hay que tener el teléfono en modo retail y seguir los siguientes pasos:

  1. Descargar e instalar Windows Phone SDK: Para obtener las tools para los siguientes 2 pasos.
  2. Registrar tu dispositivo para desarrollo: Esto los va a habilitar a instalar cualquier app (archivo .xap) en el dispositivo.
  3. Desplegar una aplicación con la Application Deployment tool: Con esto transfieren la app al device y la instalan. La van a encontrar como si la hubieran instalado del Store en la lista de apps en el dispositivo.

Descargar e instalar Windows Phone SDK

  1. Descargar el SDK para Windows Phone 8 de aquí.

Registrar tu dispositivo para desarrollo

  1. Turn on your phone and unlock the phone screen.
  2. On your phone, ensure that the date and time are correct.
  3. Connect your phone to your computer by using the USB cable that came with your phone.
  4. On your computer’s Start screen, switch to All apps view.
  5. Under Windows Phone SDK 8.0, click Windows Phone Developer Registration. The app starts, as shown in the following image.

  1. Verify that the Status message displays Identified Windows Phone 8 device. Click the Register button to unlock the phone. If your phone is already registered, the Status message indicates this and you see an Unregister button.
  2. Click Register.
  3. In the Sign In dialog box for your Microsoft account (formerly known as a Windows Live ID), enter the email address and password for your Microsoft account. Click Sign In. If you’re a registered developer, be sure to use the Microsoft account associated with your developer account.
  4. After your phone is successfully registered, the Status message displays Congratulations! You have successfully unlocked your Windows Phone.

Desplegar una aplicación con la Application Deployment tool (más info aquí)

From the Windows Start screen, launch the Application Deployment tool. You can find the Application Deployment tool by opening All apps view and locating it in the Windows Phone SDK 8.0 group, or by typing Application Deployment from the Start screen to search for it.

You can also run the tool from the following location: C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v8.0\Tools\XAP Deployment\XapDeploy.exe

The application deployment tool starts, as shown below.

  1. In the Target drop-down box, select either Device or one of the emulator options.
  2. Click Browse and locate the XAP file that you want deploy.
  3. Click Deploy. If the deployment is successful, the Status field displays XAP Deployment Complete.
