Windows Live Local Bird's Eye Imagery Cities Counties

When we talk about maps, most people will refer to which city or state they want to see. In fact, almost all mapping sites have forced us to input our city and state. So, when we talk about Windows Live Local people are continually wondering (and I've already been asked a bunch!) "what cities do you have" and "what cities are next and when?" Well, it's time to change the perspective. The folks at Pictometry that provide Microsoft with the beautiful bird's eye imagery actually fly based *roughly* on county. So, here's a list of counties for which Windows Live Local now has bird's eye imagery:

  • California, Los Angeles
  • California, Orange
  • California, San Francisco
  • District of Columbia, District of Columbia - there must be exceptions!
  • Florida, Duval
  • Georgia, Fulton
  • Indiana, Marion
  • Kansas, Wyandotte
  • Kentucky, Fayette
  • Louisiana, Orleans
  • Maryland, Baltimore City
  • Massachusetts, Suffolk
  • Nevada, Clark

When is your county due out? That's a secret. [:)] But, don't wait for another release! More bird's eye imagery will be coming every so often and not necessarily scheduled with a major release, so stay tuned.
