A Day in the Cloud on 28 August 2012

Looking for a public cloud with global datacenters with up to 99.95% monthly SLA for your business? Join us in our new office to learn from Malaysiakini (Malaysia’s #1 news portal) on how they achieved better scalability and uptime; YEYLOL, who built a better karaoke machine (and more) by leveraging on the cloud and two promising startups, DappleWorks and WebBytes who leveraged on the Microsoft brand to give their customers peace of mind that their service will always be available and scale as they need.

Find out what’s NEW in our latest Windows Azure update. Microsoft Cloud is getting even richer with our infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offerings as well as our existing platform as a service (PaaS). Microsoft’s Windows Azure is flexible, open and rock solid. You can build and deploy applications using any OS, Language, Database or Tool.

Azure Activation

Coming for our event? We have Azure laptops waiting for you to experience Azure. Activate your own free Azure account on them (costs RM0.00 but you WILL need your Credit Card) to continue the experience at your home/office/anywhere. Why does Azure need your card? Just in case you decide to exceed your given limit during your 90-Day trial and you don't want it to be suspended. Yes, in order to NOT charge you, Azure will automatically suspend your account for that month once you've exceeded the given limit during your 3-Month trial.  You can find out more on how much Public Cloud Computing you'll be given during the trial here.

As mentioned, Azure will automatically suspend your account for that month if you exceed the given limits during your trial. If you don't wish for this to happen, you can request Azure to remove your Spending Limit. You can find out more about that here. Once you've requested for Azure to remove your Spending Limit, if you exceed your allocated trial limit, Azure will begin to bill you according to Standard Rates. You can find out more about that here.

Don't see a point activating Azure if you're not going to use it? Let us help you make it worth your while so you can play around with it for free without any charge to your card during the 3 months that you're given :

Activate Azure ...

You can redeem the Starbucks card during our event. How? Just show us the mail from Azure confirming your activation (or that you've requested for your Spending Limit to be removed if you want to redeem the RM40 Starbucks card instead).

Note: Starbucks card offer is only valid for activation from 1 September 2012 onwards and while stock last.

Unable to attend to this event? No problem - you can still activate Azure from the comfort of your office/house/outside, just mail your confirmation to mattkhaw@microsoft.com
