The good news--there are some wicked features. Excel is incredible w/automated formatting. Word has got automated Blog posting (good for me) and the way you can preview font chanes is neat. PowerPoint simplifies deck development big time.
The bad news--Outlook isn't quite ready for prime time. When I say I live there, I mean I LIVE there. It's too buggy. I know it's beta, but this isn't the best.
All in all, if they can work it out, it'll be a worthwhile upgrade, though I have to say I am a bit concerned about the context sensitive menus. They do improve productivity, but it is a change and people, as you know, are resistant to change.
