Gartner: 2011 is the Year of the PaaS

A couple of weeks ago Gartner released a press statement, stating that in 2011 we will see a huge increase in the offerings and adoption of PaaS (Platform as a Service) solutions, leading to:

“…by 2015, most enterprises will have part of their run-the-business software functionally executing in the cloud, using PaaS services or technologies directly or indirectly….”

Great news for the Windows Azure Platform, which supported the idea of PaaS being the Cloud platform offering from the start.
